27-YEAR WAIT
"Only Thank You I Love You deals with memories“
The forgotten compositions were waiting 27 years to be reborn and to be released. The first of them is "The Port without Stones“ which was written in 1992 by The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) and Stanislav Lorincz using a Roland D20 and an Atari 1040ste running C-LAB Creator SL 3.1. Then it waited 27 years for its official release with new vocals and lyrics. The inspiration for vocals and lyrics came in November 2018 after watching "Lucifer", an American television series 2nd season part 16, "God Johnson" where God appears and meets Lucifer. Lyrics and vocals were ready within 30 minutes. Then Stanislav Lorincz made a new arrangement with synthesisers and The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) recorded vocals and guitars. It was mixed and mastered with Zoli Toth (Randal Group music company). It was like a miracle to hear it first time on vinyl, especially after this long wait.
Today Zoltan Bognar (The EyeLand) and Stanislav Lorincz (co-songwriter) are working together on a new Album based on the forgotten compositions of "Island of Ideas“ (the previous band of Zoltan and Stanislav from 1992-1996). They are finishing a new single which will be released in the near future.
The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) is a composer, singer and guitar player who lives in Bratislava, Slovakia. He started his musical journey in 1992 with his friend Stanislav Lorincz in an electronic band called "Island of Ideas“. Their main music equipment was only a Roland D20 and an Atari 1040ste computer with C-LAB Creator software. Depeche Mode, Erasure, and local electronic bands (Ocean - a Czech band , Bonanza Banzai - a Hungarian band) had the greatest influence on their music. Together they created more than 50 compositions and many unfinished works. These works never appeared in public. In 1996 "Island of Ideas“ broke up and all the compositions remained only as memories on demo tapes and computer discs. In 1997, after these traumatic band issues, The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) gave up both singing and guitar playing.
But the love of music was stronger and The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) started to discover classical music. At first he studied composition from 1996 to 2000 privately with Dusan Martincek (Slovak Contemporary Composer) and from 2000 to 2005 he studied classical and contemporary music composition at the Music Academy in Bratislava. In the Academy his main teacher was Dusan Martincek and from 2003 to 2005 Jevgenij Irsai (Russian composer living in Slovakia). In 2007 The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) returned to guitar playing backed with his new music skills and started to study Jimi Hendrix's music and style. In 2016 he also returned to singing and slowly started to develop his vocal skills. Thanks to a lucky accident in 2018 inspiration for new Lyrics and Vocals came to The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) for a 2nd composition "The Port without Stones", by Island of Ideas band. He contacted Stanislav who agreed on cooperation on the new single. Then Stanislav made a new arrangement with synthesisers, and The EyeLand (Zoltan Bognar) recorded the vocals and guitars. In 2019 the single was finished and it was released in march 2020 under the artist new name, "The EyeLand".
